My
art background:
I
am entirely self-taught and was born needing to CREATE.
Walls and crayons were my first exploration. Toothpicks,
cardboard and elmer's glue were my next discoveries.
I
favor realism--ultra-realism--and that surfaces in all
of my work be that painting horse protraits or creating
miniature worlds.
My
experience:
**The Beginning: Dioramas--1972
**Illustration--books/greeting cards--sporadically from
1979 through 1986
** Horse portraits--Princeton/PA/Central Jersey--early
1990's.
**Painted furniture/objects--1990's through present.
**Murals/Tromp l'oeil--1990 through 1996
**Dioramas, railroad structures, layouts--Part-time
2002 through mid-2004--full time from mid 2004 to present.
I worked mainly as a writer under contract from 2000
through mid-2004.
My
mission statement:
I don't have a driving underlying message with my art
and never have--perhaps that has made me less a "real"
artist/perhaps not.
I strive to capture "enchantment" and "magic."
To create things that allow ME to get away from it all...to
forget everything for a moment...to dream...to recreate
a world that exists, for the most part, only in our
memories.
